Melanie Martinez adds extra London show to UK tour

Due to demand, Melanie Martinez has added an extra London show to her upcoming UK headline tour.

The new date will see the musician return to the capital on 17 February 2020, performing at O2 Academy Brixton.

Tickets for the new date will be available from 9:00 on Friday 27 September 2019 through 

Melanie Martinez’s upcoming tour kicks off in Glasgow on Wednesday 4 December 2019 and is in support of the musician’s sophomore studio album K-12, released on 6 September 2019.

Alongside the release of the album, Melanie also wrote, directed and starred in her first full-length feature film K-12. The movie is available in full on YouTube where it has been streamed over 24 million times.

Melanie recently performed Strawberry Shortcake from the new album live on US TV. Check out the extravagant performance below:

K-12 is the follow up to the musician’s 2015 debut LP Cry Baby. Certified platinum in the US, Cry Baby spawned the singles Pity Party, Soap and Sippy Cup.

The album also received critical acclaim, with Spin naming the record as one of their 25 Best Pop Albums of 2015.

The New York-born artist first came to prominence in 2012 after appearing on the third season of the American version of the TV talent show The Voice.

Coached by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine, Martinez finished sixth in the competition.

Using the platform the show gave her to grow her fanbase, the musician started releasing music online, catching the attention of Atlantic Records. The label signed the pop-maker in 2014, releasing her debut album the following year.

The last time Melanie Martinez came to the UK, she performed a sold out show at London’s Eventim Apollo.

The musician will return to these shores later this year, for a run of headline dates in support of her new album K-12.
