Lovebox announces more acts and stage splits
The festival will be headlined by Childish Gambino, N.E.R.D, and Skepta.
Having announced their move to West London’s Gunnersbury Park and announced the first wave of artists earlier this year, Lovebox organisers have confirmed the stage-splits alongside a handful of new acts.
The event will be co-headlined by Grammy Award winner Childish Gambino and N.E.R.D on the Saturday, with Skepta taking the top billing on the Friday.
The latest announcement sees dvsn, Gilles Peterson, Novelist, Tirzah and more join the bill.
The festival will also host appearances by SZA, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Vince Staples, Mura Masa, The Internet, Kali Uchis and many more.
Lovebox will take place from the 13 – 14 July 2018.
The arenas will be hosted by Noisey, Jackmaster & Numbers Present Mastermix, Mike Skinner & Murkage present Tonga, Shy FX presents cult.ure, Corona Sunsets and Kopparberg Outsider.
Childish Gambino takes to the Lovebox main stage, having forged a career in music, producing, acting, rapping, and more. He released his debut album Camp in 2011, followed by with Because The Internet and his most recent Awaken, My Love! in 2016. More recently, he unveiled the politically charged This Is America, accompanied by an acclaimed video directed by Hiro Murai.
Skepta remains one of UK music’s most prominent figures, and a pioneer in the grime scene. As a founding member of BBK, he teamed up with brother JME for That’s Not Me in 2014, and releasing the Mercury Music Prize winning Konnichiwa in 2016. He released his new track Pure Water earlier this month.
They’ll be joined by Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley, taking to the co-headline slot on the Saturday as N.E.R.D following last year’s No One Ever Really Dies and collaboration with Rihanna, Lemon.
The acts join a range of food and rink, real ales, Smirnoff Soda Fruit Smash, The Ruoja Wine Terrace, Prosecco on Tap, as well as hip-hop karaoke, The Chapel Of Love(box), The Sweet Spot, beauty parlours, vintage markets and more.
