LCD Soundsystem have announced a headline show at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on the 6 June 2018. The band, fronted by James Murphy, released their American Dream album earlier this year, already included in many Best Of 2017 end of year lists.

The New York based band dropped the record at the start of September 2017, their fourth full-length and first new music since ending their hiatus.

Murphy and co. returned with songs Call The Police, Tonite and the album’s title track, before the record peaked at No.1 in the United States and No.3 in the UK.

LCD Soundsystem rose to fame with the release of the debut album in 2005, which included hit songs Give It Up, Yeah and the insatiable dance-floor filler Daft Punk Are Playing At My House.

They released two more albums before taking a break, Sound Of Silver in 2007, and This Is Happening in 2010.

Murphy announced the band would be playing their, what was at the time, last ever show at Madison Square Gardens in New York on the 2 April 2011. Their farewell show went on for almost four hours, including guest appearances by Arcade Fire, Reggie Watts and others. It culminated in a poignant performance of New York, I Love You But You’re Brining Me Down.

The band then reunited in 2016, playing a headline slot at Coachella. They’ve played a number of high profile festival slots and headline shows since, set to return to the UK in the summer of 2018.

LCD Soundsystem play the O2 Apollo in Manchester on the 6 June 2018, with yet to be announced special guests.

Tickets for LCD Soundsystem are available from 9:00 on Friday 1 December 2017 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
