You’re performing on the X Factor final this weekend, how’re you feeling about this?
“I enjoy going back on the show and it will be in Wembley so that’s always an exciting venue to perform in.”
You’re heading out on tour next February, what can we expect?
“My new album is very uplifting and soulful and so I’m [planning] the show around these feelings. I get very hands on from everything to lighting, set, and arrangements. People get a real feel of me from my shows.”
Was it a conscious decision to perform in theatres on your upcoming tour? Do you prefer the intimate atmosphere?
“Performing in theatres is very different from arenas. I love the sound as these venues are made to make music sound the best it can. Some of the venues are new to me and I’ve heard that the sound is amazing so I’m really exciting about playing them.”
What’re your three favourite things about touring?
“Seeing people connect to and singing the lyrics of the songs. Becoming a better performer with each show and the yummy vegetarian catering!”
And what would your tips be for new acts adjusting to life on the road?
“On the road is where you learn so much about yourself and your material. You learn to craft and fine tune your set, and you get to connect with people through music. It’s can be an incredible experience when you have that.”
If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would it be?
“I really love Alabama Shakes. I saw them live and was blown away, I was singing along to every song!”
