Interview: I Prevail on playing Download Festival 2019
Download returns in 2020, running from 12 - 14 June.
On Sunday 14 June 2019, stateside rockers I Prevail took to the main stage at Download Festival.
The band, comprising Brian Burkheiser and Eric Vanlerberghe on vocal, Steve Menoian and Dylan Bowman on guitar, and Gabe Helguera on drums, released their highly anticipated sophomore record TRAUMA earlier this year.
Speaking backstage at the festival, Dylan and Eric chat about the prestige of playing the main stage at the iconic rock event, their fanbase, their love of performing live, and the music community.
Now boasting millions of streams and YouTube views, I Prevail burst onto the scene with their unique take on Taylor Swift’s Blank Space, going on to secure a status in their own right with their Lifelines debut LP. The record reached the top 20 on the stateside chart, and established I Prevail as one of the most exciting voices in alternative music.
This year’s TRAUMA has followed suit, landing at No.14 on the Billboard 200 upon release.
I Prevail are set to return to the UK on the following dates:
17 March 2020 – Pyramids, Portsmouth
18 March 2020 – Manchester Academy, Manchester
