Independent Venue Week: Allusondrugs tell us their five favourite venues

After sharing the love for some of our favourite small venues across the UK, we’re turning things over to one of our favourite rising bands.

In the spirit of Independent Venue Week, Yorkshire punks Allusondrugs tell us five of their favourite small venues to play…

The Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes

This place is like a second home to us. We’ve probably spent more time at this venue than any other venue ever and we’ve only played there twice… The staff are super friendly and all the locals are really nice. The best thing about The Craufurd is that it’s more of a community rather than just a venue – all the staff live and work there and all add their own personal touches which enhances the overall homely atmosphere of the venue. We’ve made memories at this place and we love everyone in it.

Früit, Hull

A fantastic all-round venue with a great warehouse feel to it. It’s covered in awesome artwork and has a great stage area. The sound system is brilliant too. We’ve played here a couple of times on tour and it’s just one of those places you can leave feeling really satisfied with everything that just happened.

The Horn, St Albans

The Horn is up there with one of our favourite venue experiences ever. Exceptional hospitality needs to be mentioned here because the staff and sound engineers were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They did everything to make sure we had the best possible show we could. There’s a real DIY feel to The Horn and some really great bands have played there. We can’t wait to go back!

Audio, Glasgow

Our favourite small venue in Scotland. They made us the best lasagne ever! The sound and lighting guys were a particular highlight as they were brilliant to work with. Our favourite Scotland show took place here and we’re definitely planning on doing another one here in the near future.

The Library, Leeds

A beautiful building with a really cool nostalgic feel. We’ve seen many bands here before who have been an inspiration to us – Richard Watson (360 Club) is a fantastic promoter and he’s in it for all the right reasons. We recently played a sold out hometown show there and the vibes were simply amazing. We’re proud to be part of the Leeds scene, especially when it has venues like this.
