It’s happening: The Red Hot Chili Peppers return to the UK for first tour in five years

Ahead of their headline slots at Reading & Leeds this Bank Holiday weekend, Red Hot Chili Peppers announce a four-city UK tour for December this year

It’s an early Christmas present, if you will. Grammy award-winning, Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame inductees Red Hot Chili Peppers will be touring the UK in support of their eleventh studio album The Getaway which was recently No.1 in 10 countries across Europe – and it’s their first UK tour in five years.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have spent the summer performing at a variety of music festivals across the globe, including headlining Lollapalooza in Chicago, T In The Park in Scotland, Fuji Rock in Japan and, this weekend, will be headlining Reading and Leeds as the perfect end to summer.

With the announcement of the UK tour – which will see the American rockers hitting up cities including London, Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester – comes the exciting news that Japanese sensation BABYMETAL will be supporting the Chilis. The J-pop teen metallers have already taken the world by storm since their formation in 2010 and they recently rocked out at this year’s Download festival, and made UK chart history by charting at No. 15 in the UK’s official album charts – the highest-charting Japanese band ever.
