UK rapper Ghetts has confirmed details of his biggest ever UK headline tour.

The newly announced tour kicks off in Glasgow on 8 December 2019, before heading to Brighton, Bristol, Birmingham, Nottingham, Norwich, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and London.

The news follows Ghetts’ recent Ivor Novello award nomination.

The rapper received the nod for his track Black Rose feat. Kojey Radical. The song is taken from Ghetts’ most recent album Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament and has been nominated in the Best Contemporary Song category. The winner of the award will be revealed on 23 May 2019 at a star-studded ceremony in Central London.

Raised in the London borough of Newham, Ghetts has been a mainstay of grime music since its beginnings and he is often referred to as a pioneer of the genre.

Combining his strong love of hip hop and literature, the rapper made shockwaves in the scene with a succession of mixtapes released between 2005 to 2014.

Ghetts released his debut album Rebel With a Cause in 2014. Featuring the singles Rebel, Rude Boy, Gas Mark 9 and Fire Burning, the album was a critical and commercial success, charting at No.24 on the Official UK Albums Chart and earning Ghetts three MOBO award nominations and a BET award nomination.

In September 2018 the rapper released his second album Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament. The album’s title is referencing Ghetts’ seminal 2007 mixtape Ghetto Gospel and features appearances from artists such as Wretch 32, Chip and Stefflon Don.

Ghetts will be bringing the album to life when he heads out on tour later this year.
