Frank Turner, Maximo Park and more join forces for London tribute show
Maximo Park, Gaz Coombes, Fran Healy, Frank Turner and special guests are on the line-up for A Peaceful Noise at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 15 November.
On Tuesday Frank Turner announced a special tribute show in memory of friend Nick Alexander who lost his life in the Paris attacks last November while working as merchandise manager for Eagles of Death Metal at the time. The news comes just after Frank Turner announced a massive UK-wide tour for November and December.
The tribute show will feature solo sets by Frank Turner, Gaz Coombs, Fran Healy (Travis) and a yet-to-be-announced special guest. DJ sets from Bloc Party’s Russell Lissack, Father Brian Ralph and Matt Walsh have also been confirmed. All proceeds will go to The Nick Alexander Memorial Trust and Josh Homme’s Sweet Stuff Foundation.
A Peaceful Noise aims to “harness that solidarity and kick-start a movement that uses music to raise awareness, to unite and to pay tribute to all those who were affected by the attack”.
Frank Turner adds that “Bringing people together in the spirit of peace and music for an evening is the least we can do for his memory, I’m honoured to be asked to play.”
