Album of the Week
The post-punk duo release Infancy part II – the closing six tracks of their debut.
Foals have announced details of a forthcoming UK tour.
The five date run kicks off at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Wednesday 29 April 2020 and will also see the band headline gigs in London, Blackpool, Birmingham and Cardiff.
The announcement comes ahead of the release of the second part of their dual album project Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2, due to drop on 18 October 2019.
The new record follows Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1, which was released earlier this year to rave reviews. The record also debuted at No.2 on the Official UK Albums Chart.
“They’re two halves of the same locket,” frontman Yannis Philippakis explains about the dual release. “They can be listened to and appreciated individually, but fundamentally, they are companion pieces”.
Three tracks have been released from the Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2 so far, The Runner, Black Bull and Into The Surf.
Foals emerged out of the homegrown Oxford scene, having since headlined major festivals across Europe, won many coveted awards and sold over 1.7 million albums.
Their LP discography includes 2015’s What Went Down, 2013’s Holy Fire, 2010’s Total Life Forever and 2008’s Antidotes.
Some of their most well-known tracks include Mountain At My Gates, Inhaler, Birch Tree and Ny Number.
The band will tour across the UK early next spring following the release of their new album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2.
