First Aid Kit announce UK headline tour
The Swedish sisters are bringing Rebel Heart to our shores.
First Aid Kit have announced 2018 UK headline dates, celebrating the release of this year’s Ruins album. The tour kicks off on the 22 October 2018 in Belfast, and includes a headline show at London’s O2 Academy Brixton on the 31 October.
Sisters Klara and Johanna will be joined by The Staves on all dates.
“We’re thrilled to announce our Rebel Heart tour in the fall,” First Aid Kit announces. “We’ll be returning to our beloved UK for our biggest tour there to date. With us on the road we’ll have the incredible sister trio The Staves. We’ve been friends and mutual fans for years and finally we get to tour together. We can’t wait to get your rebel hearts beating with us.”
Speaking of the forthcoming dates, The Staves add: “We met Johanna and Klara backstage at Glastonbury just before singing together with Mumford & Sons for their finale back in 2013, and since then we’ve met in many different dressing rooms in cities and countries across the world. Now we’ve finally managed to fulfil our dream of touring with another band of SISTERS! Gigging is always great, but when it’s with a band you admire and people you love and folks you can harmonise with, it’s the best. We can’t wait to see you out there on the road.”
First Aid Kit released their fourth studio album Ruins in January, including songs It’s A Shame and Fireworks. They first released music in 2010 with their debut The Big Black And Blue, having since released hit songs such as The Lion’s Roar and Emmylou.
Johanna and Klara will be touring throughout October and November, bringing their music to the UK. Here are those dates in full:
