With a week to go until the first game, England’s official Rugby World Cup 2015 single by Ella Eyre has been unveiled.
The English singer-songwriter and BRIT Award winner sounds breathtaking in her version of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot, which she also performed at this week’s Wear The Rose Live event at The O2.
All proceeds from the single will go towards supporting England Rugby’s All Schools programme, supported by principle partner CBRE, which seeks to introduce rugby to state secondary schools.
“I’m so proud to be singing Swing Low and getting behind the team in a World Cup year on home soil,” said Ella in a recent statement.
“I am really looking forward to helping bring the whole nation behind the England team. It’s inspiring to see the levels of support for the players and we’re raising money for a great cause.”
Listen to the new single now on the England Rugby Facebook page.
Ahead of their first game against Fiji on Friday 18 September, we caught up with some of the England players to talk team spirit and dressing room soundtracks.
