It’s been nearly two years, but Sonisphere makes its long awaited return to Knebworth Park… The best part is, we’re only days away from the best festival of the Summer! I’ve put together a list of five bands you must see over the weekend.
These guys open the main stage on the Friday. I saw The Defiled open for Motionless In White last year. They put on one of the best stage shows I’ve ever seen and in my opinion were the band of the night.
Helsinki’s HIM play their only UK show of the year at Sonisphere. Expect to hear all the classics including “Wings Of A Butterfly”, “Right Here In My Arms” and a cover of the Chris Isaak hit “Wicked Game”.
2014 has been an amazing year for Cheshire’s Blitz Kids. The band signed to Red Bull Record to release their album “The Good Youth”. They’ve toured with All Time Low, made an appearance on Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch and to top it all off, they’ll be playing the Bohemia Stage at Sonisphere. Expect a head-banging riff-laden set.
Why should you watch Iron Maiden? They’re IRON MAIDEN – One of the biggest metal bands on the planet! Be sure to check out an aerial display from vocalist Bruce Dickinson at 6pm on the Saturday. Bruce, along with some other pilots will re-enact a WW1 dogfight above Knebworth Park.
Boy Jumps Ship
Boy Jumps Ship are one of the newer bands on the bill, but their infectious pop-punk sound is something that needs to be experienced. Make sure you get up early and watch the band open the Jägermeister Stage on Sunday morning – you won’t regret it!
Sonisphere Festival 2014 takes place 4 -6 July at Knebworth Park, Hertfordshire and tickets are available here. Don’t miss out!
