Tour Bus Playlist: Clean Cut Kid’s favourite tunes
Hear five songs set to keep the band entertained on their UK tour.
Liverpool outfit Clean Cut Kid kick off their headline UK run in Glasgow on 22 November 2018, running through to a hometown show over a week later. The dates follow the release of new single Deafening, their first new material since this year’s Painkiller EP and a critical take on the industry in which they find themselves. The track, a gritty build on their atypical folk inspired sound, is an urgent testament to their creative drive and passion to move things forward.
With their UK tour dates kicking off very soon, we asked the band to pick their five favourite songs to be played on the road for this, the Clean Cut Kid Tour Bus Playlist. Across the five tracks, the band demonstrate a broad taste in music, from the stripped back tones of Phoebe Bridgers to the scuzzy distortion of the now sadly disbanded Spring King.
Listen to their selections below, and catch Clean Cut Kid on the road throughout the end of November 2018.
Phoebe Bridgers- Motion Sickness
“All of us were obsessed with Stranger in the Alps when we first heard it. The feel of the band on this track is unbelievable, and the lyrical concept is perfect.”
Blake Mills – Don’t Tell Our Friends About Me
“Possibly the best guitarist in the world at the moment. The writing and sonics on this whole record are incredible and we love this track in particular.”
Anderson .Paak – Am I Wrong
“Malibu is another album we all were obsessed with when it came out. Anderson .Paak is one cool and talented dude.”
Spring King – Animal
“High energy and flawlessly produced. A proper modern day post punk masterpiece.”
Ringo Starr – Rory & The Hurricanes
“This song has become a bit of a pre gig ritual on the bus. We challenge you not to sing along after a few listens!”
