Comprising NK-OK and Mr. DM, Blue Lab Beats will be joined by established and new artists from a multitude of genres, not least rising star Tiana Major9 (recently announced as part of the First Fifty for The Great Escape Festival), and BBC Introducing tip James Vickery.

Other names set for the show include BRIT School alumna Jaz Karis, Manchester experimental artist KinKai, and jazz trumpeter Dylan Jones.

The genre-bending collective promise an evening of musical exploration. “It’s going to be jam-packed night with amazing opening acts and a little jam session at the end,” Blue Lab Beats explain, before imploring: “Don’t miss out!”

Blue Lab Beats, real names Namali Kwaten and David Mrakpor, have worked with some serious talent – the likes of Kojey Radical and Ruby Francis having visited the Blue Lab studio in Kwaten’s family home. They have also established themselves as artists in their own right, most recently releasing their Xover full-length, teaming up with the likes of the aforementioned plus Nice, Moses Boyd and Daniel Taylor, among many others.

Their forward thinking approach embraces the musical styles of various cultures, establishing themselves as mainstays in London’s contemporary jazz scene. Both celebrating and elevating the styles, Blue Lab Beats are about reinventing norms and blurring genre boundaries.

Their success has seen them appear at the likes of Afropunk, Glastonbury Festival, WOMAD and Love Supreme, as well as a number of live shows, events and experiences across the capital.

They put their success down to their abundant energy. “A lot of rehearsals,” they respond when asked what goes into a Blue Lab Beats show, “making sure once we hit stage no matter the vibe we will give 110%.”
