Our weekly round up of this week's biggest new tours, shows and events.
Having performed their seminal debut Silent Alarm in full at London’s Alexandra Palace in November 2018, as well as across Europe, Bloc Party have added a Birmingham date to their regional album shows.
They’ll now also be taking to the O2 Academy Birmingham on 13 July 2019, with tickets available from 10:00 on Friday 8 March 2019.
Silent Alarm was first released in 2005 to widespread critical and commercial success, spawning five singles and a hit remixed version just several months later.
The record achieved multi-platinum status and also earned the group a Mercury Prize nomination – it has since been heralded as one of the most influential albums of the decade.
Comprised of original members Kele Okereke and Russell Lissac and Justin Harris and Louise Bartle, Bloc Party will play a handful of shows across the UK, taking to Bristol, Brighton, Manchester and Glasgow this summer.
Here are those 2019 dates in full:
28 June 2019 – Canon’s Marsh Amphitheatre, Bristol
29 June 2019 – Brighton Centre, Brighton
5 July 2019 – Castlefield Bowl, Manchester
13 July 2019 – O2 Academy, Birmingham
5 August 2019 – Kelvingrove Park Bandstand, Glasgow
Tickets for Bloc Party’s newly announced Birmingham date will be available from 8 March 2019 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
