Billy Ocean adds 2019 dates to UK tour
The British soul icon announces extra dates for March 2019.
Billy Ocean has announced he’ll be performing all his greatest hits, including favourite tracks and new material from his upcoming album, into 2019. The legendary singer-songwriter has just announced extra dates that will kick off on 1 March 2019 in Sheffield and run through to Victoria Hall in Stoke on the 14 March.
Billy is the biggest selling black recording star Britain has ever produced. He’s sold over 30 million records to date. Having achieved extraordinary success as both an artist and a songwriter, Billy has collected multiple gold and platinum records across the world and hit the No.1 spot on the pop charts in the US, Australia, Germany, Holland and the UK.
In 2016 Billy released Here You Are: The Best of Billy Ocean, a career celebration containing hits like Cry Me a River, When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going and Loverboy (shown below). Having gained a Top 10 position at No.4, this was his highest charting album since 1989.
Last year was another fantastic year for Billy. He played shows in Dubai, the US, Canada, Spain, Mozambique, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Germany and even Luxembourg. He’s now currently working on material for his next album.
Announcing the original 2018 tour dates, of which some have since sold out, Billy said: “I’m really looking forward to my UK tour next year, it’s going to be 13 party nights!”
