It’s safe to say 2015 was another mammoth year in the world of pop, featuring a handful of huge comebacks, blockbusting world tours and only one cape-related tumble.

Adele’s Domination
Do I even need to mention this one? Despite only releasing the album in the last quarter of the year, Adele’s 25 dominated the global charts in 2015. But you already knew that, right?
Katy Perry’s Super Bowl spectacular
2015 has been a relatively quiet year for Katy Perry but she made one heck of an impact when she headlined the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show in February. Powering through her impressive collection of hits, Katy flew across the audience and was given some extra star power thanks to a (now iconic) pair of sharks as backing dancers and the highly-anticipated return of Missy Elliot. For an artist that frequently divides opinion, there’s no doubt she puts on an A-list pop spectacle every time.
Justin Biber’s redemption
Never before has anyone managed to turn around their entire image in such a short amount of time. Gone is the badly behaved brat and here is a perfect pop prince who has won back the industry, and his legions of fans, with infectious dance hits containing lyrics of heartbreak and personal discovery. #relatable He’s had a string of well-received high profile performances this year, broken records with 2015’s Purpose and announced a world tour for 2016. Bieber is officially back!

The reunion that nobody thought would ever happen, happened. After teaming up with the McFly lads for the past two years, James Bourne and Matt Willis managed to do the seemingly impossible and get Charlie Simpson back on board with Busted. Will they still be able to get away with singing What I Go To School For in 2016? Only one way to find out, get yourself to their 2016 arena tour.
Taylor Swift’s unstoppable tour
It’s been impossible to avoid Taylor Swift in 2015. You’ve probably either been reading about her stance on streaming music, the many records she’s broken or both. But it was her 1989 world tour that garnered the most attention and rightly so. Taylor ruled the charts in 2015 and her 1989 tour broke records around the world with its hit-packed setlist and constant flow of A-List celebrity guests. Over 2.5 million fans were in attendance across 83 shows, reportedly grossing a whopping $250.7million to become the 7th highest grossing tour ever for a solo act.
Madonna reigns supreme
After several decades in the industry, Madonna is still the very definition of a superstar and she proved that with her Rebel Heart world tour which supported the album of the same name – one of my favourites of the past 12 months. The record showed a lesser seen, more vulnerable side to Madonna and was a return to the form for the undisputed Queen of Pop. The tour sold out arenas across the world and continues to do so into 2016; it would seem Madonna has so far managed to avoid any further cape-related incidents. Now THAT was a pop moment of 2015.
