Avril Lavigne adds third London date to 2020 UK tour

The Canadian pop superstar brings her Head Above Water world tour to these shores in April.

Due to phenomenal demand, Avril Lavigne has added a third London show to the UK leg of her Head Above Water world tour.

The newly added date will see the pop star take to London’s O2 Academy Brixton on Monday 6 April 2020.

Avril’s forthcoming shows are in support of her sixth full-length album Head Above Water, which dropped in February 2019.

The star won critical acclaim for the LP, and in particular its lyrical content, which delves into Lavigne’s battle with Lyme disease. Watch the video for the record’s title track below:

The singer-songwriter first broke through in 2002 with her debut album Let Go which features the smash hit singles Complicated, Sk8er Boi, I’m With You and Losing Grip.

Since the release of Let Go, Avril has sold over 40 million albums and over 50 million singles worldwide.

An ever-present force in the UK singles charts since 2002, Avril’s hit tracks include My Happy Ending, When You’re Gone, What the Hell, Here’s to Never Growing Up and Girlfriend.

Avril Lavigne kicked off the US leg of her Head Above Water world tour in September.

Her first tour in five years, critics have been quick to praise her return with MTV describing the new show as an “uncomplicated parade of hits”.

£2 from every ticket sold on her forthcoming UK dates will be donated to The Avril Lavigne Foundation, which supports people with Lyme disease and other serious illnesses; funding treatment, preventative action and research through grants.
