TRNSMT have announce a new wave of acts for this summer including Arctic Monkeys, Interpol, Blossoms and more.
For its sophomore year, TRNSMT really have gone all out. Today they’ve confirmed iconic British rockers Arctic Monkeys to headline their 1 July edition alongside support from Interpol, Blossoms, Nothing But Thieves, Declan McKenna, Miles Kane and Tom Grennan for the show.
The date marks the band’s first and only UK this year so far, and falls among thirteen European festivals dates for Arctic Monkeys this summer. The announcement has fans even more excited about a possible new Arctic Monkeys album coming this year after a 5-year wait since 2013’s release of the record-breaking album AM.
Arctic Monkeys scored the soundtrack for a generation with their legendary album AM and songs like Do I Wanna Know?, R U Mine? and Arabella as well as their previous releases Whatever People Say I Am, Favourite Worst Nightmare and more.
Geoff Ellis, Head of DF Concerts said: “DF Concerts are thrilled to bring TRNSMT fans Arctic Monkey’s as our opening weekend’s final headliners; we’ve wanted to have them back in Scotland for a while now and can’t wait to see what their set will bring.”
“Sunday 1 July’s line-up is a combination of legends and bright young stars. We have one more headliner to announce before our line-up is complete and we can assure fans TRNSMT 2018 will be unmissable. Stay tuned!”
Alex Turner and co join an already stellar line-up at Glasgow Green with Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher, and The Killers headlining the other dates.
Tickets for Arctic Monkeys at TRNSMT Festival will go on sale at 09:00 on Thursday 1 February via Ticketmaster.co.uk.
