Manic Street Preachers, George Ezra and Blossoms have been announced for Absolute Radio’s tenth birthday bash at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. Two thousand lucky fans will have the opportunity to catch the three acts in a comparably intimate environment on Tuesday 25 September 2018.
The Manics have sold over ten million albums worldwide, taking home eight Q Awards and four BRITs. George Ezra is celebrating the success of his second full-length, Staying At Tamara’s, dominating airways with single Shotgun. Blossoms, continuing their rise as one of the UK’s best new indie bands, hit the No.1 spot on the vinyl chart with Cool Like You, and have sold out their autumn 2018 UK tour.
“It’s Absolute Radio’s 10th Birthday, so it’s only fitting we throw the biggest and best party for our listeners,” Dave Berry announced on Absolute Radio’s Breakfast Show. “The Manics are in charge of organising the magician, George is overseeing the decorations and Blossoms are getting the party bags. I’ve got the bouncy castle covered. I’m chuffed to be hosting the gig, and it’s going to be a great night of live music to celebrate ten years of Absolute Radio!”
The show marks ten years of Absolute Radio, a station renowned for innovative live shows. They are the first to have hosted shows at the Houses of Parliament, when Biffy Clyro became the first band to play in the government hub, and St Paul’s Cathedral, when Elbow took the honours in 2011.
The station hosts presenters Dave Berry, Frank Skinner and Jason Manford, among others, having launched in September 2008.
NOTE:Tickets for the show will be available through Ticketmaster’s Paperless Ticketing. Customers will need the same credit card used when purchasing tickets to enter the venue, as well as ID. The whole party must enter the venue at the same time.
