Norwegian new wave legends A-ha have announced four UK dates for November 2020, marking the 35th anniversary celebrations of their debut album, Hunting High and Low. The shows in London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Bournemouth will see the band play their triple-platinum-selling album in full, including their smash hits Take On Me and The Sun Always Shines on TV.

Formed in Oslo in 1982, the trio had a number one hit under their belts – Take On Me ¬– before they’d even played a single gig. It wasn’t all plain sailing, however, as the single took three releases to finally take hold with UK fans, and then only once its striking animated video had caused a major splash in the US.

Take On Me’s opening keyboard riff has gone on to become one of the most recognisable of its era and the song took 24th spot on VH1’s Greatest Songs of the 80s. Hunting High and Low went platinum in four countries and the band went on to record the theme song to the Bond film, The Living Daylights, and hold the world record for the largest paying audience at a concert for the 198,000 people who turned up to see them in Rio de Janeiro.

a-ha - Take On Me (Live From MTV Unplugged)

A-ha called it a day in 2011, but returned in 2015. An MTV Unplugged session in 2017 and the appearance of an acoustic version of Take On Me in Deadpool 2 introduced a new generation of fans to the band and ensured the continuation of their legacy.

Here are the dates for the 2020 tour:

10 November 2020 – Bournemouth International Centre, Bournemouth
11 November 2020 – M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool
13 November 2020 – Arena Birmingham, Birmingham
14 November 2020 – Wembley The SSE Arena, London

VIP packages are available which include premium seats and an exclusive merchandise bundle.

Tickets for all four A-ha shows go on sale on 8 November 2019 at 10:00 through Ticketmaster.co.uk.
