5 Seconds of Summer, also known as 5SOS, have announced that they will be bringing their world tour to the UK in October and November 2018.
The tour will see Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin kick things off in Glasgow on Tuesday 23 October 2018, before heading to Manchester, London, Birmingham and finishing the leg of their tour in Sheffield on Friday 2 November 2018.
This announcement follows the news of the release date of the Australian band’s third studio album Youngblood, which is due to be released worldwide on 22 June via Capitol Records. The first single from the album, Want You Back, debuted at No.1 on iTunes in over eighteen countries including USA, Brazil, Portugal and Poland.
The album is described as the reflection of “5SOS’ growth and discovery during their creative and personal odyssey in Los Angeles”, and showcases the band’s evolving sound with their new music evoking moods and influences from artists such as The Police, The Church and Gorillaz.

Formed in 2011, the band first got their taste of popularity after Hemmings started posting videos of himself singing covers on YouTube, before Clifford and Hood joined. Irwin joined later on that year and the band started to attract interest of major music label.
They then became the opening act for One Direction in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and from this, began to gain even more popularity worldwide.
5SOS is the only band in history to see their first two full-length studio album get to No.1 on the Billboard 200. In 2014, they released their self-titled debut album which has sold more than 3 million units worldwide to date and includes their hit songs such as Good Girls, Don’t Stop, Amnesia and their debut single She Looks So Perfect.
Their second album, Sounds Good Feels Food, topped the charts in 12 countries, including the UK, USA and Australia. The first single from the album, She’s Kinda Hot, managed to top the iTunes charts in 40 countries.
The Sydney-based band’s popularity doesn’t seem to be slowing down as their latest tour in Spring 2018 sold out.
The band are also winners of a 5 MTV European Music Awards, 2 ARIA Awards, American Music Award, an iHeartRadio Music Award, a People’s Choice Award and a MTV Video Music Award.
