10 bands you’d be silly to miss at Hit The Deck Festival
Hit The Deck is rolling into Bristol and Nottingham this weekend, as they get festival season underway with a stellar 2015 line-up.
There’s tons of bands to see, so we’ve narrowed down 10 of the sets we reckon you’d be silly to miss…
Black Peaks
These newbies have the rock world seriously excited about their fresh take on hardcore and post-rock. Throw in some clever math rock trickery and you’ve got yourself a festival set to remember.

Brawlers
What better way to kick off festival season than with one of the bands set to soundtrack this summer? Brawlers’ newly-released second album, Romantic Errors of Our Youth, needs to be heard live.
Cancer Bats
The Toronto rockers are bringing their co-headline tour with While She Sleeps to Hit The Deck, which promises to get a little rowdy if nothing else. With a fresh batch of songs in new album, Searching For Zero, Cancer Bats have a lot to be loud about.
While She Sleeps
The Sheffield five-piece are back and they’ve been busy tearing up the UK with Cancer Bats. Hit The Deck sets to be no different, so you’ll probably want to get there nice and early.
The Xcerts
Easily one of the best live bands on the circuit right now, the Aberdeen/Exeter trio bring the kind of infectious pop-rock that’s unlike much else on the bill. Be there, or risk being disappointed.
Dead!
We caught these guys supporting Zoax on their latest headline run and were pretty, preeeetty impressed. A very interesting offering straight out of Southampton, the young quintet blend old My Chemical Romance influence with an updated take on punk-rock.
Zoax
Fast making a name for themselves and their relentless live show, this powerful lot promise to be tearing off roof tiles when they land at Hit The Deck. Dancing shoes required!
FrnkIero AndThe Cellebration
The former My Chemical Romance guitarist makes his Hit The Deck debut with new band, FrnkIero AndThe Cellebration. Give their record, Stomachaches, a spin if you haven’t already and get set for it to sound 10 times as good live.
As It Is
British pop-punk has a new set of sweethearts and they’re set to steal Hit The Deck. As It Is have got a hectic summer ahead of them, so catch them while you can.
The Swellers
After announcing their split in June 2014, The Swellers are bidding farewell to UK fans with a handful of live dates including Hit The Deck. It’s sure to be emotional, sob.
That’s 10, but we can’t forget Welsh rockers, Skindred, who are heading up the whole thing. Get ready to KILL THE POWA like so…
Hit The Deck takes place in Bristol on Saturday 25 April and Nottingham on Sunday 26 April. Tickets are on sale now, just head to Ticketmaster.co.uk.
