Isle of Wight Festival will return in 2021, with Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi, Show Patrol, Pete Tong and Duran Duran leading the bill.

The festival will take place from 17 -20 June 2021, having been forced to postpone in 2020 by the Coronavirus pandemic.

“We should be watching some fantastic performances in a field together this weekend, but sadly it was not to be,” says John Giddings of The Isle of Wight Festival.

“We’re thrilled that we will welcome most of the artists booked for 2020, plus a few special additions, to next year’s festival. We’re excited to get planning and will work within advised guidelines to ensure the safety of the audience, artists and staff on site – come on down!”

Lionel Richie - All Night Long (All Night)

Friday night at Isle of Wight will be co-headlined by music icon Lionel Richie, who’ll be performing at the festival for the first time ever in his career, alongside man of the moment and recent Brit Award winner Lewis Capaldi.

Snow Patrol – who first debuted 20 years ago – will perform at the festival on Saturday night where they’ll be co-headlining alongside legendary British DJ Pete Tong, who is set to take to the stage with The Heritage Orchestra to present his acclaimed Ibiza Classics show.

Closing main stage proceedings on Sunday will be legendary pop makers Duran Duran, whose catalogue includes hit singles Girls On Film, Ordinary World and Rio.

“We were so looking forward to playing The Isle of Wight Festival this year. You can imagine how disappointed we all were when the show got postponed – but of course it had to be that way,” says Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon.

“Now that it has been rescheduled, it’s the best bit of news I’ve had in all of these C-19 lockdown days. Isle of Wight Festival 2021, bring it on!”

Isle of Wight first opened its doors in 1968 and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018. Since the start, there have been some iconic performances from the likes of The Doors, The Who and the last ever Jimi Hendrix UK show.

The festival relaunched in 2002 to become one of the biggest UK festivals of the summer and welcomes some of the biggest, best and brightest in music.

Since its relaunch headliners have included Foo Fighters, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, Coldplay, Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart and Arcade Fire.
