Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender postpones to 2021

The hugely popular festival comes to Dreamland Margate in May 2021.

Organisers have confirmed that The Soundcrash Funk & Soul Weekender, taking place at Dreamland, Margate, has been rescheduled.

Some of the world’s biggest and best musicians will now descend on the seaside town for a weekend of sets from 27 – 30 May 2021.

Organisers have confirmed that they have retained the confirmed 2020 headliners for their 2021 outing, as well as the vast majority of the line-up. Full line-up details for the event will be revealed in the near future.

The 2021 event will be headlined by Sister Sledge, Toots & The Maytals, and George Clinton with Parliament Funkadelic across the bank holiday weekend.

Sister Sledge broke onto the scene with their We Are Family full-length in 1979, including the anthemic title-track and He’s the Greatest Dancer. With a total of ten studio albums to their name, the band helped form the defining sound of the ’80s.

Toots & The Maytals boast a career spanning seven decades, with 23 studio albums to their name. Formed in Jamaica in the early ’60s, the band, they continue to appear at festivals across the globe, including Glastonbury and Coachella in recent years.

George Clinton with Parliament Funkadelic complete the 2021 headliners. Songwriter, bandleader and record producer Clinton is heralded as a pioneer of funk, going on to heavily influence the emergence of hip hop in the ’80s and ’90s.

All original tickets remain valid for the new dates.

As well as some of the best music from across the globe, the festival also boasts free vintage rides, street food, disco yoga and a roller disco.
