Organisers of American Express presents BST Hyde Park have announced Duran Duran as their latest headliner for this summer’s festival.

The legendary pop pioneers will take to the stage at London’s iconic park on Sunday 12 July 2020.

Duran Duran are the latest addition to the line-up of summer shows, which is also set to feature headline sets from Post Malone, Little Mix, Kendrick Lamar, Pearl Jam, and Taylor Swift.

Comprised of lead vocalist Simon Le Bon, keyboardist Nick Rhodes, bassist John Taylor, and drummer Roger Taylor, Duran Duran are one of the most successful British music exports of all time, having amassed over 100 million record sales across their 40 year career.

The band have celebrated over 21 UK top-20 hits, including timeless tracks such as Hungry Like The Wolf, Rio, The Wild Boys, Girls On Film, and Is There Something I Should Know?

The band’s most recent album Paper Gods landed in 2015, debuting at No.5 on the Official UK Albums chart and receiving rave reviews.

Their forthcoming show at BST Hyde Park will mark their first London show in five years.

On the gig, singer Simon Le Bon comments: “I look at film of The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park back in ’69 and think of all the great acts who’ve performed there since. It really is an honour to add the name Duran Duran to that roster, and to play our music at one of the world’s greatest inner city locations at BST Hyde Park.”

The band will be joined at the show by former No Doubt lead singer and massive pop star in her own right Gwen Stefani, who has celebrated hits with tracks such as Rich Girl and Hollaback Girl.

Also set to perform on the day will be Nile Rodgers, who will bring his band CHIC back to the Hyde Park stage for the first time in five years. Fans can look forward to hearing hit tracks such as Le Freak and Good Times.
