Find out more as the Chesire festival confirms its line-up.
The first wave of artists set to perform at this year’s bluedot festival has been announced.
The science and culture festival returns to Cheshire’s Jodrell Bank Observatory this summer, taking place from 23 – 26 July 2020.
The fifth edition of the award-winning event is set to host headline sets from Björk, Groove Armada and Metronomy.
The festival will also welcome an appearance from the first British ESA astronaut Tim Peake as part of their science line-up.
London dance legends Groove Armada are set to headline bluedot’s Lovell stage on Friday night. The duo have released eight albums throughout their illustrious career so far, with their latest Little Black Book landing in 2015.
Headlining the Lovell stage on Saturday night will indie-electro makers Metronomy, who released their latest LP Metronomy Forever to rave reviews in September 2019.
Closing the festival on Sunday night will be the one-and-only Björk. The UK festival exclusive set will see the star team up with Manchester’s Hallé Orchestra in a bespoke performance, featuring projections on the Lovell Telescope.
Also confirmed to be performing over the weekend are Irish singer-songwriter Róisín Murphy, space-rockers Spirituzlized, electro-wizard Squarepusher and German electro band Tangerine Dream.
Alongside live music at bluedot, they’ll also be a full programme of scientific events including a talk from rock star astronaut Tim Peake.
bluedot will also feature live comedy, with Adam Buxton and Phil Jupitus confirmed to appear, as well as a whole host of family-friendly events.
