Getting out of the country is one way of escaping the daily grind, as is heading to festival with your mates. Combine the two and you’ve got the ultimate break, leaving the real world well and truly behind for a few days. Or to give it its full name, Festival Internacional de Benicassim, the Spanish festival brings pop, rock and electronic artists into the Mediterranean sun for a healthy mix of partying and relaxing. Glide from all-night gigs to the nearby beach and leave your worries at the door. The beautiful scenic event is visually stunning, and the perfect opportunity to make those back home jealous with an endless stream of picturesque photos.

What do we know?

Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd and Kasabian lead the charge, with the likes of Foals, Liam Gallagher and Tyler, The Creator also on the bill. Every traveller’s favourite Bonobo will also be playing live for the ultimate sunshine experience.

When and where?

It takes place in the Spanish town of Benicassim from the 13 – 16 July 2017.

Flow Festival

A little further north, Flow Festival brings the best in music and art to Helsinki in Finland. Delight your pals with video calls with some of the best bands in Europe, and spend some time exploring the beautiful surroundings of the largest city in Finland.

What do we know?

Lana Del Rey, The xx and Frank Ocean lead the charge on this one, with loads of underground heroes in tow. The list is already looking spectacular, including Aphex Twin, Flume, Ryan Adams, London Grammar, Angel Olsen and loads more. Visual extravaganzas are guaranteed, so get snapping and sharing.

When and where?

Flow Festival takes place in the Finnish capital, Helsinki, from the 11 – 13 August 2017.


Running in the Netherlands since 1993, A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise (or more commonly called Lowlands) celebrates a carnival atmosphere as well as its massive music bill. It really is like a whole different world, with things to see, do and capture at every turn.

What do we know?

The line-up already boasts Mumford & Sons, The xx, Bastille, alt-J, London Grammar, Iggy Pop and loads more. With a line-up this strong and awe-inspiring temporary structures and tents to protect from the unpredictable Dutch weather, your social media isn’t even ready for what you’ll be posting.

When and where?

Lowlands takes place in the stunning Biddinghuizen from the 18 – 20 August 2017.
