JOHN RICE, Senior Director, Systems Operations International
What is your title, job role and tenure at Ticketmaster?
Senior Director, Systems Operations International with 11 years’ service at Ticketmaster. I manage multiple Systems Operations teams responsible for production support and maintenance of the Ticketmaster International product suite.
What is it like working at Ticketmaster?
It’s great working here! I’m lucky enough to be part of a Technical Operations group that is continually searching for the best ways to serve the Ticketmaster International business making it very interesting from a technology and process perspective.
What’s your day-to-day job like?
I spend my time ensuring that we are all pulling in the same direction and that my team’s goals are aligned with the goals of the Ticketmaster International business.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
I get to learn something new every day. I’m lucky enough to work with some extremely talented technologists, managers, and people who are experts in their field so there is always a question to ask!
What’s been your favourite gig/show/event?
I love a day out to Twickenham, so it’s got to be one of the 6 Nations matches I’ve attended in the past but it’s hard to choose which one!
What advice do you have for people who want to work in your field?
Everyone you meet will know something you don’t, so ask lots of questions and have a collaborative mind-set!
