Our weekly round up of this week's biggest new tours, shows and events.
Peter Kay will return with his Dance For Life charity events, following huge success over the past two years. The dance-a-thon parties will take place across Britain, with all profits going to Cancer Research UK.
It marks the first time Dance For Life will visit Manchester, with a three night Easter spectacular at Manchester Central. The three-hour events will also take to Coventry and Liverpool.
The three venues will be transformed, hosting enormous dance floors, with state-of-the-art sound and lights, and DJ PK (that’s Peter Kay) behind the decks. It promises to be a fundraising event like no other.
“I’ve honestly never had so much fun as I had working on Dance For Life,” Kay says. “The atmosphere was so happy and positive; it really is a great way to raise money for the worthiest of causes. All people have to do is turn up and dance.”
“I’d also like to encourage people to get themselves sponsored via JustGiving.com where a special Dance For Life team page has been set up.”
Participants can also set up individual pages to get sponsored for their own dance-a-thon challenges.
Kay has teamed up with Cancer Research UK and their Stand Up To Cancer campaign for the events. Claire Rowney, the campaign director says: “We are so grateful to Peter for hosting his epic Dance For Life events to raise money, we need as many people as possible to join Peter and kick cancer’s ass by dancing the night away. The money that is raised from the events will fund vital research so that we can save more lives, more quickly.”
