Ed Sheeran announces three live dates in Ipswich this summer
The record-breaking singer will play a string of shows in Ipswich accompanied by a roster of special guests
Ed Sheeran has announced that he’ll be visiting Ipswich this summer for three special live shows, each night boasting two exciting guests. The shows will take place at Portsmouth Road, Ipswich, on the home ground of Ipswich Town FC – the football club that Sheeran has supported for years.
Joining Sheeran on Friday 11 July will be Myles Smith and Tori Kelly. On Saturday 12 July, Ipswich will welcome special guests Busted and Dylan, before James Blunt and Maisie Peters take to the stage on Sunday 13 July for Sheeran’s final show.
These Ipswich shows will be Sheeran’s first headline shows since 2023, and will mark the live debut of tracks from Sheeran’s new album, Play, along with many fan favourites from his earlier hit albums. Play sees the singer wave goodbye to his Mathematics series and enter a whole new phase of his career. Preceded by singles ‘Azizam’ and ‘Old Phone’, the album will release in entirety on 12 September.
The shows at Ipswich don’t just offer audiences a chance to hear tracks from Play live for the first time – they also serve a larger purpose, as £1 from each show will be donated to new initiative Live Trust in support of the grassroots music sector.
