BRIT Awards 2020: The full list of winners
The stars were out in force at The O2, London.
The annual BRIT Awards ceremony took place at London’s O2 on Tuesday 18 February 2020, celebrating the best of British and the international acts who have had the biggest impact across the nation.
Hosted by Jack Whitehall, who was in his usual jovial form, the ceremony saw top performances from the likes of Billie Eilish, Mabel, Stormzy, Dave, Rod Stewart Celeste, Lizzo and Harry Styles.

Here are the full list of winners from this year’s ceremony:
Female Solo Artist Of The Year: Mabel
After opening the show with her sassy empowerment anthem Don’t Call Me Up, Mabel took home the highly coveted award for Female Solo Artist Of The Year. It was a poignant moment coming exactly 30 years after her mother, legendary pop star Neneh Cherry, walked away with two BRIT Awards herself at the 1990 ceremony.
Male Solo Artist Of The Year: Stormzy
After a genre-defining Glastonbury headline performance and sophomore album Heavy Is The Head hitting the top of the charts, it’s no surprise Stormzy walked away with the prize for Male Solo Artist Of The Year. The South Londoner was quick to praise his whole team in his acceptance speech, and in particular the amazing females he works with.
Group Of The Year: Foals
Beating off stiff competition from some of the biggest bands on the planet, Oxford rockers Foals took home the Group Of The Year award 15 years after first forming. Embracing their humble beginnings, frontman Yannis quipped how they still owe his dad the £500 they borrowed to buy their first van.
BRITs Rising Star: Celeste
Following a spine-tingling her performance of Strange, Celeste was awarded the BRITs Rising Star Award from last year’s recipient Sam Fender. Celeste follows a long list of huge names who have previously won the award such as Adele, Florence + The Machine, Sam Smith and Rag ‘N’ Bone Man.
New Artist Of The Year: Lewis Capaldi
The ‘Scottish Beyonce’ took home his first award of the night in trademark style; downing a bottle of beer and exclaiming, “Thank you very f*****g much, I’ll see you later,” before walking off stage.
Song Of The Year: Lewis Capaldi – Someone You Loved
It’s inconceivable that any track other than the chart-topping Someone You Loved could have won Song Of The Year. Picking up his second award of the night, Lewis, Buckfast in hand, decided to once and for all end rumours who the song is about, dedicating the win to his late Grandmother in one of the nights funniest speeches.
Album Of The Year: Dave – Psychodrama
Before his win, Dave provided arguably the performance of the night with a reworked version of his song Black, calling out the racial injustices faced in British society today. The critically acclaimed Psychodrama also won Dave the Mercury Prize last year.
International Female Solo Artist: Billie Eilish
An emotional Billie Eilish picked up the award for International Female Solo Artist, thanking her fans for the support after struggling with feeling “really hated recently.” The musician has enjoyed a remarkable rise in recent years, and earlier on in the evening performed her James Bong theme song No Time To Die, alongside her brother Finneas, legendary composer Hans Zimmer and homegrown legend Johnny Marr.
International Male Solo Artist: Tyler, The Creator
Five years after being banned from entering the country by the former Home Secretary, who Tyler dedicated his award too, Tyler, The Creator’s win capped off a remarkable 12 months for the genre-defying musician, who released his latest album, Igor, to rave reviews in 2019.
