Blending together scuzzy indie-rock with a hearty dose of blues, Liverpool trio The Mysterines spent 2019 turning heads with their Take Control EP and follow-up single Who’s Your Girl.

The latter is a swaggering rock and roll onslaught. At just over two minutes long it throws out a powerful energy, dominated by driving guitars and Lia Metcalfe’s distinctive punk-infused vocals.

Having rounded off 2019 joining The Amazons and Demob Happy on tour, and having headlined the coveted BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds Festival back in the summer, The Mysterines (completed by bassist George Favager and Chrissy Moore on drums) are gearing up for a headline run across the UK in February 2020.

Ahead of the tour, The Mysterines pick the songs set to soundtrack the ups and downs of life on the road.

RL Burnside – Snake Drive
“Day one; fresh face, fresh van, new clothes, ready for the drive to begin.”

Arcade Fire – Keep The Car Running
“Long, long journeys with stops so quick it’s almost like the van ignition wasn’t turned off.”
