Idris Virgo confirmed for Ultimate Boxxer II
The Love Island star will make his return to the ring this November.
Idris Virgo will make his return to the ring at Ultimate Boxxer II this November.
The star of ITV series Love Island will take to the event at London’s Indigo O2 on 2 November 2018.
With a 2-0 professional record, both wins taking place at Villa Park in his Birmingham hometown, Idris Virgo is swapping the sun, sea and search for love for the ring.
“In Love Island I was looking for a lass, in the ring I’m looking to knock someone out,” Virgo says. “It’s been 3 months since my last fight, which took place just before my time on Love Island. I can’t wait to get back into the ring and show my new fans what I’m really about.”
Ultimate Boxxer aims to make the sport more accessible for fighters and fans, with the second event also set to air live on Channel 5 Spike and on the UNILAD Facebook account. The all round spectacle welcomes a host of special guests, including live music from BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s Charlie Sloth.
Virgo will compete alongside Joel McIntyre, John McCallum, Shakan Pitters, Dec Spelman, Jordan Joseph, Darrel Church and Sam Horsfall. The winner of the knockout format will take home £50,000.
Ultimate Boxxer debuted in Manchester earlier this year, with the London outing focussing on the light heavyweight division. Fighters compete in three, three minute rounds.
