Wicked wins your Best West End Song vote

Wicked’s Defying Gravity is the best song on the West End right now, according to our recent poll.

We asked you – the ever-lovely readers of tmBlog – which iconic theatre song was your favourite, and the results were almost-unanimous.

Wicked stormed ahead in the poll, seeing off competition from Dirty Dancing, Thriller, Jersey Boys and Cats.

Les Miserables on West End

Falling Slowly from Once was the second most popular West End anthem according to your votes, followed closely by Les Misérables’ I Dreamed a Dream and Lion King’s Circle of Life.

Miss Saigon’s Last Night of the World and Phantom of the Opera’s self-titled hit also pulled in a respectable number of votes between them.

But it’s Elphaba and Glinda’s powerful duet that secures victory for the long-standing West End show. Which, if you ask us, calls for a big ol’ sing-along.

Did you vote for Wicked’s Defying Gravity in our Best West End Song poll?
