Exclusive: McBusted’s Matt Willis reveals the gig he’s “super stoked” for

Is there anything better than seeing a successful band get dizzy with excitement over seeing another band live? Well, that’s exactly what happened when tmBlog sat down with McBusted this week.

“Slipknot next week, anyone?” wailed former Busted member, Matt Willis, to the rest of this band mates.

“KoRn are supporting – it’s like my 18-year-old self”s perfect gig,” he told us with a huge grin on his face. “Actually, that would have been a garage rave, but…”

We’ve all been there, it’s fine.

Revealing his eagerness to catch the masked men live in London, Matt said: “I’m super stoked about it, my friends are all going as well and I didn’t think I’d be able to go. I thought [McBusted] were going to Australia earlier so there wouldn’t be time, but it turns out I can.”

“It looks like the most epic live show ever,” he went on, explaining the appeal of the Iowa metallers. “I’ve never seen them live, but I’ve watched them on TV live many times.”

A bucket list moment for the pop-rock bassist? You betya: “I feel like it’s a tick off my list, plus their records are amazing – I still love Psychosocial and Duality.”

Sharing his gig-going tips with us, Matt advised finally: “If I had to take three things to a Slipknot gig, they’d probably be a helmet, a rain mac and a mask.”

Seems sensible enough to us.
